In her two releases in August (God Tussi Great Ho and Chamku within two weeks), Priyanka continues her quest to look physically different for each part.

"Not that I planned for God Tussi Great Ho and Chamku to come one after another. But fortunately I look very different in both. In God Tussi Great Ho, I'm dressed in shorts and jeans. I wear a nose-ring throughout the film…a very hip and 'today' thing to do. In Chamku, I'm a school teacher. So I dress in a saree."

She is all gooey-eyed about her Chamku co-star. "Bobby and I go back a long way. He and Sunnyji are a part of my initial phase in Mumbai. Sunnyji did my first film The Hero with me when I was a nobody. He didn't have to. But he encouraged a newcomer. I'll never forget that. As for Bobby, we've done two films together before. I'd do anything for the Deols' banner, Vijeta Films, anytime."

Is that why she agreed to be in Chamku although it's an out-and-out Bobby vehicle? "It's Bobby's film. But I've a substantial role. I am the shoulder he cries on. Sometimes it's good to be a shoulder instead of shouldering a film," she chuckles.

As for Salman, "We really had a good time shooting God Tussi Great Ho. That sense of enjoyment shows up on screen. "Another trouble that celebs often get into. Some people who work with them or for them at one point, end up stalking and troubling them.




Priyanka Chopra's ex Secretary was one stalker Pranks never thought she'd be able to get rid of. Now he is finally in jail and Pranks is relieved.

His name was Prakash Jaju. He used to send lewd SMSes, sent emails to journalists about Priyanka's alleged relationships with her co-stars. He also gave out her phone details as well as appointment details to everybody. , reports Mumbai Mirror.

Chopra's ignored all his dirty moves but he didn't stop. he continued to harass Pranks and even her father, Dr. Chopra. They tried to settle out of court but nothing helped. Now the guy is in jail and Priyanka still feels sorry for the guy. Well, what can she do, they guy was a weirdo and he got what he deserved. He could have made a good career but his reputation and his deeds took him no where. At least, Pranks and her family can relax now.

Last night while shooting for Kaminay in Pune, Shahid and Priyanka fell off a bike. Well our girl Priyanka was driving it. It was amuddy slope and the bike skidded they fell off, reports IANS. Now all my friends who say that girls are bad drivers are going to bother me again, happily.

Shahid was riding at the back and he fell with her and the Bike fell on both of them. The two were slightly injured, have a few bruises but they'll be fine as the injury wasn't serious. "By god's grace, I am fine and so is Shahid, except for a few cuts and bruises. I think the only thing that is seriously damaged is my ego, otherwise I am alive and kicking," Priyanka was quoted as saying in a press statement. Hope they get well soon.

By now its common knowledge that the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra plays Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard in the fantasy adventure Drona. Priyanka would be seen doing some deadly action sequences in this flick which opens across cinema halls on Oct 2.

While Priyanka didn't have any real problems doing the stunts all by herself, she got a little nervous when she came to know that she would have to ride a horse for one of the sequences in the film.

Strangely, no one on the sets of Drona knew that Priyanka is scared of riding a horse. Hence, the nervous look on her face on the day of the actual shoot came as a shock to all the crew members present.

Explaining this amusing incident, director Goldie Behl recalls, "Since the day we started shooting for Drona, Priyanka was very confident about all her action and fighting scenes.

She was very confident until we started shooting for this scene where she was supposed to ride a horse. She suddenly got very edgy with the idea of riding a horse; that was when we realized that Priyanka was actually scared of horses.

The horse sequence was very prominent for the scene, hence we couldn't think of not having it. After a creative discussion, Priyanka finally agreed and actually shot for the entire sequence.

Once the camera rolled, no one could make out that she was scared and I must say she shot like a pro."

Looks like after this incident Priyanka has surely emerged a much stronger and braver girl.

Drona'Drona' and 'Kidnap' kick off festive season in Bollywood

Bollywood begins its festive season with the release of two biggies Drona and Kidnap on Thursday.

'Drona' starring Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra is the first co-production under the Eros Pictures banner. The film is being released with over 1000 prints worldwide. The movie, directed by Goldie Behl , is crucial for the careers of the lead pair.




Priyanka's big release Love Story 2050 was a flop while Abhishek's last release Sarkar Raj had a fairly good run at the box office. Success eluded Priyanka even in her last release Chamku .

'Drona' is a big-budget film which portrays Abhishek as a super hero.

'Kidnap' directed by Sanjay Gadhvi features Sanjay Dutt and newcomer Imran Khan along with Minissha Lamba .

Imran plays villain, a complete contrast from his good boy image in his debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na . Dutt plays father of the girl who was kidnapped by Khan.

'Kidnap' is Gadhvi's first film outside the Yashraj banner. His previous two action flicks Dhoom and Dhoom 2 have been huge successes. The film is produced by Ashtavinayak cine vision, the production company which has already tasted success with Jab We Met .

'Kidnap' was released in the Middle-East yesterday and there were paid previews of the film in UK and USA on Wednesday.

Fashion to premiere at New York`s South Asian film fest

"Fashion", Madhur Bhandarkar's film set in the glamorous but ruthless world of haute couture, is slated for its world premiere Oct 24 during the week-long 5th South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) here.

Nandita Das' "Firaaq", also from India, is the opening night feature of the festival and Das starrer "Ramchand Pakistani" directed by Mehreen Jabbar is the closing film. The festival runs Oct 22-28.

SAIFF 2008 will present a select combination of full-length films, shorts and documentaries in a variety of genres.

With several screening locations in Manhattan and high-profile sponsors like HBO, the New York Times and Time Warner Cable, the festival is dedicated to supporting established and emerging filmmakers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, as well as the South Asian diaspora.

"Fashion", starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Raj Babbar explores the world of style through the emotional journeys of the key people that make up the industry -models, designers, photographers, agencies and businessmen.

"Firaaq", which premiered last month at the Toronto International Film Festival, takes place over a 24-hour period one month after the 2002 communal violence in Gujarat. It features a star studded ensemble portraying the emotional journeys of "ordinary people" - some victims, some perpetrators and some who watched silently.

"Ramchand Pakistani" is a true story from 2002 concerning the accidental crossing of the Pakistan-Indian border during a period of extreme, war-like tension between the two countries by two members of a Pakistani Hindu family belonging to the Dalit caste. Nandita Das is the only non-Pakistani in the film's cast.

Priyanka meets Melanie Griffith-Antonio Banderas



The opening night on Friday of the Middle East International Film Festival went off like a dream.

Priyanka first bumped into the When Harry Met Sally star Meg Ryan at the opening. Apparently the two actresses bonded briefly but affectionately.

But the real bonding happened later at the festival's opening ceremony, when Priyanka shared a good two hours with Hollywood's hot couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas.

The couple was seen conversing very warmly with Priyanka.Banderas even expressed a keen wish to work with Priyanka.

"What you've heard is right, " says Priyanka. "I did spend come time chatting up with Antonio and his wife Melanie. We sat together at the opening. Antonio was extremely charming.He was familiar with the Bollywood film industry and the financial leaps it has made in recent years."

Banderas, in fact, spoke to Priyanka about the possibilities of a tie-up.

Priyanka was sitting in the front row with the Hollywood couple when Melanie turned around to ask, 'Are you the famous Bollywood actress?'

Melanie loves India and Bollywood.

So is Priyanka finally going interanational? "The language doesn't matter. It could be Hindi English or Punjabi it's all the same to me."

Fashion was supposed to premiere at the Middle East International Film Festival. "And that's how I found myself there. Fashion was supposed to be shown at the opening night of the Middle Eastern Film Festival.

But the post-production wasn't done. They still invited me. I was very hapy to represent Bollywood. I was in Abu Dhabi for just half a day. I went in the afternoon and returned to India late night, to Delhi for another event next morning.

There's too much going in my life: the dubbing of Fashion, promotion of Fashion and Dostana and my new film What's Your Raashee is starting."

When Priyanka walked into the posh hotel in Abu Dhabi she was like… wow this is meant for a holiday not work!

"For the first time I craved for a holiday. But I don't need to combine work with pleasure. Because my work is my pleasure. The opening ceremony then the after-party at Abu Dhabi and I left at 1 am. I can't even afford to be jetlagged. I love my work. I enjoy the rush. But I realized my body needs rest. I am petrified about not fulfilling my commitments. So far so good. I just need a holiday after Fashion and Dostana are released."

Priyanka’s character in the film is that of a small-town girl who comes to Mumbai to become a supermodel. Her character undergoes change from a gaudily dressed girl from Chandigarh to a budding model with a sophisticated fashion sense. Then, her character goes through personal crisis. For these sequences, she was given a neglected look. And finally, she overcomes her demons and emerges a supermodel. Rita Dhody, Priyanka’s stylist in the film gave her as many as five different looks in keeping with the character throughout the course of the story. "Initially, she (Priyanka) is shown as a very hep character with loud colours - everything is matching in her attire from the lipstick to nail polish to even her shoes. It's a very look-at-me look," Rita is quoted by a news agency. "But when the first change occurs, the colour palette begins to change. Her make-up becomes light. Then, when she becomes a model and a supermodel, the contrasting change is very visible. When she starts losing it all, she becomes very edgy - everything from the colour palette to the make-up becomes softer to show she doesn't care any more about her looks before her resurrection takes place," says the stylist. Rita, however, goes on to add that the changes in the styling of Priyanka’s character have been done in a seamless, subtle manner. ‘Fashion’ is Madhur Bhandarkar ’s attempt to expose the hidden face of the fashion industry. The movie also stars Kangana Ranaut , Mugdha Godse , Arjan Bajwa , Arbaaz Khan and Kitu Gidwani.
The film is set to release on October 29.

Priyanka makes fun of Katrina's success

Priyanka Chopra doesn't like her position in Bollywood to be challenged.

And especially if it's done by a wooden actress like Katrina Kaif!

Priyanka Chopra has fearlessly stated, "I love to do films that have me in important roles and not where I am used just as a prop.

I don't see any reason to do films where I have 4-5 songs and 15-20 scenes just because they are touted to be commercial successes. What is the point of acting in such films and giving seven back-to-back hits? That doesn't make you grow as an actress!"

That's not all. She's also reportedly added, "I may have delivered a few flops but even those had me playing important roles. I have not and will never act in films where my role is inconsequential and that my only job in those films is to look pretty."

Now that's really a blatant attack on Katrina who has delivered 7 back-to-back hits where the hero had everything to do and her presence was unimportant.

Wonder what woody Katrina's reaction to this will be! Or will she run to good old Sallu bhai for help and ask him to verbally bash up Priyanka on her behalf!

"I've worked very hard on my body": Priyanka After flaunting her curves and earning rave reviews for her performance in "Fashion", Priyanka Chopra is all set to show off her svelte figure in swimsuits and beachwear in forthcoming film "Dostana". She says she had to work really hard to get the right shape for the romantic comedy. "For 'Fashion', I had to put on six kilos and later had to shed chip by chip as the character progressed in the film. My body structure in 'Dostana' is more toned than in 'Fashion' as it is a completely beach film. I've worked very hard on my body, " Priyanka told in an interview. After a hectic schedule with six films in a row this year, Priyanka said shooting for "Dostana" with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham was like a vacation and a rejuvenating experience for her. Entirely shot in Miami, Florida, "Dostana" comes as a breather for the actress whose flagging career was given a new lease of life with "Fashion" after a series of duds - "Love Story 2050", "God Tussi Great Ho", "Chamku" and "Drona". "'Dostana' was like a vacation. It was so much fun. We were in Miami for two months and I was so fresh and rested when I came back. It was like a really relaxed outdoor and (I had a) great time because everybody got along well with each other, " Priyanka said. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the romantic comedy will release Nov 14. Priyanka plays a fashion journalist who shares her apartment with Abhishek and John. The two dupe her to rent her apartment on the pretext of being a gay couple.
"John, Abhishek and I are best friends in the film who do everything together. It's a romantic comedy and a fun film about what happens in their lives, " the actress said.

Asked if she had any apprehensions working with a debutant director, specially after a string of flops this year, Priyanka said: "Tarun is a fabulous friend of mine and an incredible director. When I first met him, I was a little scared.

"I am a kind of person who asks a lot of questions. I test directors. I like asking and Tarun knew the answer to every question I asked. He blew my mind with his confidence and the commitment he had towards the film. By the end of the film, he's become a really close friend of mine and I admire him as a filmmaker."

The former Miss World also says: "I definitely want to try singing. I might start with, maybe, a song in one of my films but I'm not sure when. But I definitely want to do it."

The actress said she admired the blogging rage among celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Ram Gopal Varma, but added that she couldn't take to it due to lack of time.

"It's such a great way to get closer to your fans. But I don't know how they find time to blog because I hardly sleep for more than four hours. I really want to do it at some point because Karan (Johar) was also telling me it's great... may be in a while when my schedule eases a little bit.

"I've had six releases this year, so it's been insane for me."

Priyanka is currently shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's "Kaminay" and Ashutosh Gowariker's "What's Your Raashee", which she calls a "very complicated and difficult romantic comedy".

She also has sequels to Farhan Akhtar's "Don - The Chase Begins Again" and Goldie Behl's "Drona", apart from an item number opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Priyadarshan's "Billo Barber".

Now she has high hopes pinned on Dharma Production's flick 'Dostana' starring Abhishek and John where she's even sporting a golden bikini.

However she's still not been able to find Mr. Right. Well, that's what she claims, even though it seems that Harman Baweja and she are more than just good friends.

But she has confirmed that whoever he is, she will get married in the next two years.

Before that Akshay Kumar was accused of having a fling with her. A few months ago there were talks about she and 'Kameenay' co-star Shahid Kapur are close.

She has reportedly said, "Man proposes, God disposes. I'm still not mentally prepared for it. But yes, I will, of course, marry someone in the next two years. I have time on my hands as I'm still quite young.

I don't have anyone to name. My career is topping my priority list. Thankfully, I'm getting good work and I want to do some good work. My career is going great and marriage does not fit in right now."

Priyanka Chopra admits that she hasn't rested for more than a year now. 2008 especially has been crazy with five releases already to her name and sixth round the corner in the form of Dostana.

However, she doesn't mind all the excitement coming her way as she hardly has got time to mourn over the failure of her movies or revel in the success of Fashion. Joginder Tuteja catches up with Priyanka Chopra hours before her Dostana gets ready to hit the screens.

Love Story 2050, God Tussi Great Ho, Chamku, Drona, Fashion and now Dostana - Whew!
(Laughs) Ya, these are indeed exciting times. I could use so many adjectives to describe what I feel but well, in the end it's all so scary. There are so many expectations that one attaches to a project. It is like sitting in Board examinations month after month.

Dostana still sounds like a safe film after all. Promos give an impression that it is an out and out fun film.
There are a little bit of emotions attached to the film as well. At the end of the day it is mainstream cinema and it has to be interesting. Dostana is not a random candy floss entertainer.

Since the film has been made for commercial audience, it has to tell an engaging story. Here things turn really different. That's because when I interact with the characters played by Abhi and John, it gives a different dimension to a man-woman relationship.

It's really fun because I am there with these two guys who are supposed to be in a romcom relationship of their own!

A film with two men in a romcom affair? And you were still game for it?
I was sold the moment Tarun (Mansukhani) narrated the film to me. I didn't have any apprehensions because Tarun was so clear in admitting this very basic fact to the world on screen. He wanted to bring things out of closed doors and make the world know that this too is a part of society around us.

But wasn't there any apprehension about non-acceptance of the film? What if it doesn't turn out to be a hit? Also, Tarun is a first time director.
You can't pick a film thinking whether it would be a hit or not. How can you even do some calculations? Yes, you do assess the commercial viability of the subject but beyond that you have to leave it to the conviction of the director.

And let me tell you that I wasn't even thinking about Tarun being a debutant director here. I have worked with quite a few since I made my debut and while some of them have made fantastic films, some haven't.

But that can't deter me from saying no to someone just because he/she hasn't been entrusted with this responsibility before. Come on, someone gave me a first chance too!

Karan's association with the project would have reassuring enough though?
Having Karan around is great but Dostana is Tarun's baby all the way. It is written and directed by him and knows the subject inside out while Karan hardly came on the film's sets.

Moreover, I myself come with so many questions while working on a film and sometimes it can become really testing times for the directors. Still, Tarun braved all of it and answered all my questions. That shows his understanding, commitment and conviction.

You earlier mentioned that Dostana has some emotional moments as well. The KJo effect?
I won't say that the film has trademark Karan Johar stamp of emotional moments in Dostana. But then yes, there are moments where you get a lump in your throat. There is some softness in heart that comes on and just like there are some ups and downs in every feel good entertainer, the same is the case with Dostana too.

Softer songs like 'Kuch Kum' and 'Khabar Nahi' do promise that, isn't it?
Yeah. In the narrative they really do well. I know that songs like 'Desi Girl', 'Maa Da Laadla' and 'Shut Up and Bounce' are a rage today but I know for sure that once the films release, others too would pick up well amongst the audience.

Coming to your much talked about look; there are talks about the hard work you put in shaping your body for Dostana.
(Smiles) It's great that after Fashion, my look is being noticed in Dostana as well. However, I know for myself that hard work was there in Drona or Love Story 2050 or for that matter even Don. It's just that currently we are talking only about Dostana or Fashion.

But your weight loss is quite apparent in Dostana?
It's my luck that I was working on both Fashion and Dostana together. For the early part of Fashion, I had to put some weight to depict the chubby look of a Chandigarh girl.

Then for the Mumbai shoot of Fashion which showed my journey to the top as a supermodel, I had to loose weight. The look I acquired for Fashion also helped Dostana because I was training hard and was fast acquiring a well toned physique.

Last but not the least, one can't help but ask this question. How does Bobby Deol's character bring the twist in the plot of Dostana. And please don't say - 'Watch the film'!

Priyanka Chopra as 'Goddess of Atlantis'


Fashion She is on cloud nine after two back-to-back hits Fashion and Dostana . Now Priyanka Chopra has been selected to represent Atlantis, The Palm, a luxury resort of Dubai, as the ‘Goddess of Atlantis’.

Priyanka, according to reports, is the chosen one by the Dubai’s newest name in luxury resorts, Atlantis. The actress will be dressed like a goddess and will introduce Atlantis with ‘Atlantis Rising’, a spectacular firework by the famous Grucci Family, who were behind the pyrotechnics performed in Beijing Olympics.

As reported, the gala ceremony will witness celebrities from all spheres. The VIP list includes names like Lindsay Lohan, Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro and Gerard Butler from Hollywood. The singers Janet Jackson, Lily Allen and basketball star Michael Jordan will grace the event. Tom Cruise is also on the invited list, but the actor hasn’t confirmed his presence.




Dubai, the city with many Bollywood fans, can also see their favourite Bollywood stars like the saucy actress Mallika Sherawat .

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue will perform at the show. Lindsay Lohan’s friend DJ Samantha Ronson is the host for last segment of the function named, ‘Atlantis Afterglow’, winding all the events of the dazzling night. Business tycoons, politicians, CEOs and the members of the Dubai royal family sum up the gigantic list which contains 2000 invitees.

The Ambanis and the Hindujas are also invited for the function, along with the Moranis. It is reported that world’s top-notched chefs will take the charge for the grand treat called ‘Atlantean Feast’.

The magnificent function, scheduled for today, is a splendid, lavish affair of $40 million. Priyanka’s look of goddess will be styled by the artists from US. Now that’s a treat.

Priyanka kisses Shahid in 'Kaminay'?


Priyanka Chopra Priyanka Chopra is known to be fussy about doing intimate scenes on the big screen. But she seems to have made an exception this time.

The latest buzz from B-Town is that Priyanka has agreed to a kissing scene with co-star Shahid Kapur in Vishal Bharadwaj ’s film Kaminay .

Initially, Priyanka gave a straight forward no-no to the kissing scene. And knowing well that the actress is apprehensive about getting intimate with co-stars on the screen, Bharadwaj didn’t force her.




Now, it is being reported that while going through the rushes of the film Bharadwaj felt that the kiss was necessary to establish the growing fondness between the two characters played by Priyanka and Shahid, respectively. The director insisted and Priyanka finally agreed.

According to some sources, the scene is high on sizzlometre and the chemistry between the two stars is terrific. Right from the start, while shooting for ‘Kaminay’, Priyanka and Shahid gelled so well that the friendship was not limited to the sets, but off-sets as well.

So much so that rumour mills have linked the two stars together after Piggy Chops’ break off with her longtime beau Harman Baweja .

‘Kaminay’ is an action-comedy, and as the title suggests it’s about two cunning people.

Well, Shahid has worked hard on his physique for this role and is sporting a rugged, tanned look in the film with beard and different haircuts.

Priyanka dances as 12 different characters for a song in What's Your Raashee?




By now it's a known fact that in Ashutosh Gowarikar's What's Your Raashee?, Priyanka Chopra plays 12 different characters, each representing a difference star-sign from the horoscope. This makes Priyanka the only actress in the world to play so many characters. The closest that we come to such a massive bodycount for one actor is Sanjeev Kumar in Naya Din Nayi Raat. He played nine different characters.

But what ensued on the sets of Raashee all of last week would count as a unique occurrence in the history of world cinema.

Under the choreographic supervision of Raju Khan, Priyanka performed to a song that required her to bring all the 12 characters together in all their varying moods and personalities.

Though Priyanka isn't allowed to speak about it, it was the toughest musical challenge of any actor's career, requiring her to swing from mood to mood at the drop of a beat.

Apparently, Priyanka wasn't allowed breaks between shots, as this would have broken the rhythm of the 12 characters as captured in one line of vision.

"Priyanka shot with Raju Khan (who is Saroj Khan's son) for 22 hours at a stretch. At times she couldn't sit or take a breather for hours at a stretch. It was very important to get the continuity right. Otherwise the character's graph would've become lopsided. To dance and emote to a song in 12 different looks and makeup all at once is not an easy thing."

And to think Kareena Kapoor could be doing the song. It's confirmed. The outspoken Kareena says she was indeed supposed to do What's Your Raashee? "Yes it was offered to me and Shahid Kapoor. I'd have loved to do another film with Shahid. But the dates were clashing with Karan's film that Rensil d'Silva is directing with me and Saif."

Kareena also clarifies that her opting out of Raashee had nothing to do with her split with Shahid. "We're professionals, all of us. Even if I'm working in a film with Saif in place of a film with Shahid we're thorough professionals here in Philadelphia. There's no time to party or go out or do any of the fun things. We've been shooting in a tube station in below-freezing temperature and we need to cover as much work as possible in limited time."

Ironically, What's Your Raashee? was offered to Kareena and Shahid just after they split. Now another couple that has broken up is doing the film.
